Personal injury cases often involve tragic circumstances and require a sensitive approach to the injured parties, family members, and witnesses. PII has worked with attorneys on both the plaintiff and defense sides of these cases.

PII assists attorneys whose cases focus on:
• Accidents involving vehicles, busses, boats, and jet skis
• Child abuse related to teachers, religious leaders, coaches, and others who work with youth
• Student-on-student violence.
• Premises liability
• Products liability
• Negligence, assaults and other torts

PII investigators will travel to accident sites, collect court-room quality photographs or video, identify and screen potential witnesses, conduct witness interviews (in Spanish, if needed), and testify at trial.

When a boy drowned in the pool of his Los Angeles high school, his attorneys needed to build their wrongful death case against the school district. A team of PII investigators collected declarations from many students in the P.E. class and tracked down the lifeguard. PII also contacted water safety experts to determine proper pool procedures. Finally, PII worked closely with the victim’s Spanish-speaking family and assisted with jury selection. Building on the strength of PII’s investigation, attorneys won a $4.25 million verdict for the victim’s family at trial. At the time, the result in this lawsuit (D.A. v. Los Angeles Unified School District) was the largest sum a California jury had ever awarded in a child-death case. Read more about it here
