"Out of the Box: Investigating
Jury Misconduct

Interview on Jury Investigation

A jury completely free of misconduct is the exception, not the rule. When a trial's outcome is less than desirable, a jury misconduct investigation may be the key to turning things around.

In civil cases, PII has found jurors who have calculated the damages in an impermissible manner, who have lied on voir dire, and who have improperly tried to reenact the events presented at trial.

PII also has considerable experience locating people whose jury service occurred years earlier. In some cases, the original juries convened nearly 20 years ago. PII investigators have overcome stale addresses, aging jurors, and fading memories in order to help the firm's clients.

For attorneys interested in jury investigation, PII investigators will become familiar with case facts, make contact with jurors, discuss their
experiences during the trial, and secure their declarations, as appropriate.
